Instructions
Spelling: Please use the English alphabet. Do not
use foreign letters even if used in your own name!
Family Members: If you are legally married you must
list your spouse (husband or wife) on the application form as well.
This is necessary even if you are living separately but are not divorced
yet. In case you win, you may still decide if he or she should also
get the green card or not. The same is true for all unmarried children
under 21. Please list your own children and, if applicable, children
of your spouse as well. Children born in the USA do not need not be
listed.
Important for returning customers: Your photos, and
any photos of family members already listed in last year’s application,
are stored in our digital database. We only recommend you to send us
new photos in case your family situation has changed (e.g. through marriage,
new children) or if your appearance has changed significantly over the
last year. If you do want to send in new photos, please read the conditions
in section 4.
Photos: You will have to submit one photo
each of yourself and all family members that you list on your
application (i.e. a separate photo each of yourself, your spouse and
all unmarried children under the age of 21). Please take the pictures
directly facing the camera in front of light-colored background.
Digital Upload: You may upload a photo in the original size of
300 x 300 pixels. However, you may upload any size of photo as well.
If you upload any photo which is not square in size, our automatic photo
tool will offer you six excerpts of the original photo. You may chose
which frame best shows your full face and then click to submit this
frame. If none of the frames seems correct, please resize the picture
yourself or use another photo. Please do not upload photos taken with
a regular webcam or cellular phone. In most cases the quality of these
photos is not good enough for the application.
Sending pictures by mail: All passport photos should be between
37mm x 37mm and 50mm x 50 mm (1 ½—2 inches) square in size, with the
name and date of birth of the person shown on the photo printed on the
back. In your own interest please attach passport pictures (original
passport pictures or printed on photographic paper) in good quality!
It is very important that you send us one photo each of all family members!
Change of Adress: You will receive any updates and
even the lottery results directly from THE AMERICAN DREAM! If you change
your address after submitting your application, please contact us immediately
or log in with your customer number to change your address online. We
will only be able to send you the results of the lottery in June/July
of the following year, so make sure your address remains up to date
in our system!
Country of Birth: The Country of Birth must be listed
in the current borders! If you were born in Gaza, you must list Israel,
if you were born in the former Yugoslavia, you must now opt for either
Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro or Macedonia, if you were born in
the Kosovo, you must still fill in “Serbia” as your country
of birth, and so on...
Payment: Without payment, we cannot consider your application!
